All the hard work of dismissing the visitors for a moderate total was to be wasted by the disappointment of the persistent problem for the season which was the batting achievement.

Andy Martin was inspirational for the home side taking 6 for 35 from his 12 overs as only S.Bassett 71 posted any notable contribution to the total.

In reply P&C were well on course with Mark Jenkins 34 and Peter Thompson 23 guiding the score to 66 before the partnership was broken. Ian Rudder 28 added some vital runs but with wickets tumbling at regular intervals the task became to difficult to overcome. M.Greggus figures of 3 for 24 was Bentley’s best as they remain in the hunt for promotion by securing a 20 run victory.
