P&C finally kick started their season with a solid team effort to secure a comfortable 62 run victory.

Glen Matthews set the ball rolling with 24 supported by Jason Pike 37 with each batsman making double figure contributions along the way. Skipper Steve Aylieff 56 provided the inspiration to the batting the team has been striving for in posting a challenging target for the visitors. Wickets were shared by Hughes, Vincent and Bosman with two each.

Writtle found the run chase difficult against the accurate opening spell from Mark Daines 3 for 20 and Trevor King 4 for 14 from 12 unchanged overs. Pavitt 68 and a late blast from Bosman 39 ever threatened any danger of overcoming the target.
