P & C lost their first match of the season at home to Rayleigh on Saturday.

P & C batted first and struggled on a difficult pitch against accurate Rayleigh bowling especially A. James who took 3 for 10 from his 12 overs. Only Ian Rudder made an impact top scoring with 39.

Things were no easier for Rayleigh after tea. Dave Tolson was outstanding for P & C taking 4 for 12 from 12 overs but fielding lapses cost the home side dear as Rayleigh edged home with an over and 2 wickets to spare. Wolff was their best batsman scoring 43.
