P&C need to adapt quickly to life in Division 3 if there aspirations of challenging for promotion at this very early stage of the season as they are currently rooted to the bottom of the table searching for inspiration.

Electing to put the hosts in to bat appeared to be the right decision as a tight opening spell from Gavin Sharpe and Malcolm Hubbard with impressive figures of 2 for 13 from 12 overs which contained 8 maidens restricted the scoreline early on. Clarke 39 and Latimar 29 pushed along for quick runs as youngster Danny Freeman claimed 5 for 34 from 10 overs.

P&C equally found runs hard to come by early on as no batsman really mastered the wicket and stamped their authority on the game. Robert Hutcherson 25 and Hubbard 19 were the highest scorers in a disappointing batting performance as W. Howell 3 for 27 and D. Howell 3 for 36 helped Springfield towards victory.
